Wine aroma wheel

The wine aroma wheel is an instrument to help you find or recognize different aromas in the wine you are drinking. I believe if you practice that you can understand and enjoy wine more.

This wine aroma wheel is tailored for both beginners and advanced wine enthusiasts.

People who just start getting deeper into knowing wines can enjoy an easier than usual system of categorizing wine aromas. First, check the aroma groups in the inner circle, if the wine reminds you of a certain category, go "deeper" into the outer circle and check every aroma listed in the group.

For more advanced users we included a vast range of flavors so that you have a wider array of aromas to go through. You can just use the outer of the two aroma circles. The last circle explains the most possible origin of aromas and can help you understand more about the origin or production of the wine.

About the creator: My name is Kate and I am a certified (WSET3) specialist in wine and an educator. I love creating wine workshops, courses, and tastings. I always found aroma wheels a bit confusing for beginners because more general categories are often mixed with origins of certain aromas and this inconsistency makes the instrument which is supposed to be super simple a bit misleading. So I asked my friend and a professional illustrator to draw my version of the wheel with a big range of aromas and super simple categorization. Hope you enjoy it!
